Knocked Up: Knock Knock, who’s there?
Comedies really are nice to have around. I mean, you return home all stressed out from work and may be feeling down. A comedy will get your spirits up right away. Romantic comedies are even better - you can watch them with your chick friends or with your guy. That’s for the girls. What about the guys? Nah! Romantic comedies are for pansies, there is no way you will catch a real boy watching that stuff! No way until girl wants to watch the film. So to solve the dilemma that the poor guys face, Judd Apatow has magnanimously come up with a movie guys don’t have to be ashamed of watching.

Knocked up is a hilarious rib cracker in which Allison Scott (Katherine Heigl) is a high flying career woman who is going for the big ticket anytime. This journalist is waiting for just the right break to make it big. One fateful night, she runs into a happy go lucky bum Ben Stone (Rogen). Though a bum, he is quite charming and she finds his company relaxing. So they keep knocking drink after drink till they are completely out of their heads. It is but obvious that they decide to have sex. After a night that she can’t remember, Allison realizes that she is pregnant! With Ben’s child! After a lot of soul searching she reaches the conclusion that she will have the baby - with or without Ben’s help. Inspired, Ben decides to jump on for the ride and so two very different try and fall in love. The only trouble is that they are poles apart from the others ideal partner. Ben wants someone who is as chilled out as him and Allison dreams of a man who is on par with her ambitions and cultured upbringing. To top it all, the two have only Allison’s sister, Debbie (Mann) and her family to turn to for guidance. By doing that, they just jump from the frying pan into the fire. So it’s a tough decision they have to make - will Ben grow up and take on his responsibilities, or will Allison be a single mom?

When you hear the story like that, you can’t help but have a déjà vu. That’s because 9 months came way before and is still there in our minds. But nevertheless, the actors have done a brilliant job with this film and give it a completely different feel. Seth Rogan is great as Ben stone; he gets into Ben’s mind. Allison too is played to perfection by Katherine Heigl.

After the 40 Year Old Virgin, Judd is back with this flick and he is just as hot. Done beautifully, he captures every nuance in the film. Each and every scene speaks to the viewer and says something. He has gotten great performances from his actors and kudos to that.

So you want to watch a nice feel good AND funny film? This is an ideal pick. I guarantee that it will have you laughing uncontrollably.
