Chak De! India receives maximum awards at IIFA
Here are some more awards for Shah Rukh Khan’s CHAK DE! India. The film on women hockey swept nine awards at the ninth IIFA awards held in Bangkok. Shah Rukh himself bagged the best actor role for the film. His home production OM SHANTI OM also bagged 5 awards.
The star-studded evening witnessed CHAK DE! India, receive the best film award. CHAK DE’s director Shimit Amin took away the best director award and Jaideep Sahani got the award for best story.
Jaideep also shared a trophy for best dialogues in their film LIFE IN A METRO. The film won technical awards like cinematography, sound recording and sound re-recording, editing. OM SHANTI OM received awards for art direction, costumes, special effects and make up.
For the song Main Agar Kahoon, Javed Akhtar won the best lyricist award.
Kareena picked the award the best actress award for her film JAB WE MET.
Konkana Sen Sharma and Irrfan Khan bagged the best actors in a supporting role for LIFE IN A METRO.
Vivek Oberoi & Govinda received the best actor in negative role and the best actor in comedy role award respectively.
Ranbir and Deepika received the best debutant awards.
Akshay Kumar received a special award for his contribution to film industry, namely the IIFA honour from Thailand.
Glamorous diva award went to Katrina Kaif.
Abhishek Bachchan bagged the Idea style icon trophy.
The fresh face award went to Neil Nitin Mukesh for JOHNNY GADDAR.
Yesteryear actress Mumtaz, music composer A.R.Rehman and renowned filmmaker Shyam Benegal received special lifetime achievement awards for their outstanding contribution to Indian cinema.
A.R.Rahman bagged the best music composer award for song recording and background score for GURU.
Shaan received the award for best male playback singer for Jab Se Tere Naina in SAAWARIYA.
Shreya Ghosal bagged the best female playback singer for Barso Re Megha in GURU.
Shootout at Lokhandwala bagged the best action award.
JAB WE MET got it for best dialogues.
Vaibhavi Merchant received the best choreographer award for AAJA NACHLE.
Shah Rukh however was not present at the ceremony. The show was held at the Siam Niramit complex situated in the center of Bangkok city.
Boman Irani and Ritesh Deshmukh were the hosts of the show and they had good fun talking about the new weapon of the actors now a days, the blogs.
The show was glittering with performances by Govinda, Akshay, Katrina and Kareena.
