One more attempt at comedy. Some are genuinely funny while the others turn out to be brainless ones that can’t even tickle us to laugh and leaves us wondering what just hit us. The girl who is kidnapped, is the daughter of a tycon (Sanjay Dutt) who is worth 50 billion dollars! The girl Minissha is sweetly taken away with her wardrobe to the kidnapper’s den. Yet another mythical fairytale like fable spun to lure the moving going population. Drona is here to capture the audience with awe and intrigue. Don’t be too sure about that! Drona - Remove the D and it is all “rona”. You would definitely feel that way for the producers who have spent a fortune. “Budhdhivantha” is a much awaited Kannada film as its music had become a big hit and there was a lot of curiosity about actor Upendra’s seven different get-ups. The film matches the high expectations and turns out to be a top class entertainer. Though “Budhdhivantha” is the remake of Tamil Hit “Naan Avanillai”, director Ramnath has made several changes to enhance the film’s quality. (more…)

Launch vehicle for two star children, “Sakkarakkatti” is a movie without surprises. Kala Prabhu, son of south Indian movie mogul S. Thanu, has created a huge extravaganza painted appropriately on the big-screen canvas with a flourish by cinematographer Andrew. Despite a placid story, casual script and conspicuously absent zing in the tale’s tail, the movie entertains. (more…)
