Mumbai, July 10 (IANS) Sonu Nigam, who has rendered several hit Hindi film songs, has hit out at Bollywood music, saying it eclipses the talent and creativity of other musicians and singers in the country. “As long as there is film music, these (individual) albums cannot do well and singers’ creativity and their value will always suffer. They will always be secondary to actors and their identity will be at the back stage,” Sonu told IANS in an interview. (more…)

Sonu Nigam in concert for BIG 92.7 FM in Andheri Sports Complex on April 20th 2008. Love-struck fan of Sonu displayed her affection for the singer in front of a huge crowd while he was in the middle of the song ‘Just Chill’ when a girl ran onstage from behind, embraced Sonu, and began kissing him hysterically. Sonu resisted her but the girl was uncontrollable. Within seconds security guards ran onstage and tried to tame the fan. The girl kept groping at Sonu and in the scuffle ended up scratching his neck with her long nails. Eventually, the security pulled her away and took her backstage. (more…)

After weeks of excitement and fun on Zee TV’s Hero Honda Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs, Anamika Chaudhary from Assam emerged winner of the show on Saturday. Anamika has been awarded a cash prize of Rs 20 lakh along with a Hyundai i10 car after receiving a total of 44 lakh 80 thousand votes. Punjab’s Rohanpreet Singh was declared the first runner up, followed by Tanmay Chaturvedi as the second runner up. Rohanpreet, whom Anamika considered a very strong contender, has been awarded a cash prize of Rs 15 lakh. The second runner up Lucknow’s Tanmay has been rewarded Rs 10 lakh. While Rohanpreet received 38 lakh 47 thousand votes, Tanmay got more than 34 lakh votes. This musical challenge was a closely contested finale, watched by millions across the world on Zee TV. (more…)
