Friday, October 19th, 2007If you were waiting for another thriller this week, you are surely going to be disappointed. Speed, the latest release is all but another flop from Vikram Bhatt. The movie fails to impress even the simple audience because of a series of flaws including the poor script, impromptu direction, below-average acting, and a mixture of plots. Though the movie is supposed to follow the main plot, i.e., the kidnapping of Urmila Matondkar, there are other two plots in the movie that get intertwined with the main plot. Bhool Bhulaiya

Bhool Bhulaiya is Priyadarshan’s latest offering on the occasion of Eid. It is not a comedy, as you may imagine, but a supernatural thriller. It has Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Shiny Ahuja and Amisha Patel in stellar roles. Along with them you see Rajpal Yadav and Paresh Rawal in important roles. Bhool Bhulaiya is the Hindi remake of the 1993 Malayalam hit, Manichitrathazhu. The music by Pritam is already rocking the charts, especially Hare Ram Hare Ram, featuring Akshay Kumar. The editing is by N. Gopalakrishnan and S. Theeru has done the cinematography. (more…)

Monday, October 15th, 2007Let’s see who all were hitting the headlines last week in Bollywood and who’re going to come up with the new faces in their upcoming roles. There’s a lot of hype happening around Apoorva Lakhia’s latest movie “Mission Istanbul”, an espionage thriller produced by none other than Suneil Shetty. Sources have confirmed that Suneil has already paid Rs.10.25 million to Apoorva Lakhia. And guess; who are the actors playing the leading roles. Suneil dropped a bombshell when he revealed that Abhishek Bachchan and Vivek Oberoi will share the screen space together in his move. To the raised eyebrows, Suneil aptly replied that there is no significance for personal issues in one’s profession. He is right; and both the actors also consented for their roles together. Sunday, May 13th, 2007“This city takes back a lot more than what it gives you…” this line is said by Irrfan Khan in the movie and this is what has struck me as one of the most powerful dialogues in this film.
