Welcome comes with many expectations from Anees Bazmee whose last movie No Entry was a big hit. It has a superb cast boasting Anil Kapoor as a tapori don and Nana Patekar as a serious don yet again. Paresh Rawal as Akshay Kumar’s uncle is downright funny and excels at comedy. All these high performers ably carry what could have been a great movie on their shoulders. Avid movie buffs will find a lot of similarities between Welcome and the Hugh Grant starrer Mickey Blue Eyes, so much for Bollywood’s take on originality. (more…)

The title of the movie is self-explanatory. It tells us ten different stories in one movie. Though all of them are contributed by different directors, you may find a identical tint in most of them. The concept of narrating ten stories and depicting the lives of different types of people is quite interesting. The movie has succeeded in giving the desired impact to the viewers. The demarcating feature of the stories narrated is that all of them touch upon the sensitive issues such as sex and violence. Sunday, July 1st, 2007Yatra . . . Nana Patekar and Rekha’s yet another triumph! The renowned Bengali film maker, Goutam Ghose’s ‘Yatra’ is out now on Shemaroo Entertainment’s VCDs & DVDs. Yatra, a multi-layered film, basically talks of a writers journey where his real life gets mingled with the characters of his novel. Yatra is very beautifully blended, with the visualisation of a character in the film, who is a filmmaker and with the imagination of the writer in the film.
