Anamika or Rebecca, Raaj, Gupt reunited!
Saturday, May 3rd, 2008
I had read Daphne Du Maurier’s Rebecca long back in my mid-teens. The book had captured my fancy to such an extent that I didn’t keep it down till I spent some two sleepless nights finishing it. Now, when you see Anamika, which is loosely based on it, you are more likely to sleep over it. Rebecca has been lifted again and again by many directors but the resemblance between it and Amanika is more so during the first half and the second half has been added Indian spices to make it look Desi. Ananth Mahadevan who has been quite a strong story teller by the day has no doubt failed to keep the audience glued to their seats with amazed emotions. (more…)

This was pure entertainment and nothing else. The ‘Chak De Yaara’ show showed the best way to celebrate New Year. Having no hatred or hostility in mind, the cricket teams of both India and Pakistan had fun with the inimitable dashing King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan. ‘Chak De’ is all about winning, and the evening showed some heart winners. It was a starry and wonderful night. The cricketers of the field were ready to unwind and have a blast that they need after tiring matches on the field. They were entertained by not only King Khan, but also Sajid Khan, who promise your stomach hurts with laughter; the evening just lighted up with foot tapping performances from the sultry Kareena Kapoor, attractive Diya Mirza and the appealing Koena Mitra.
Over the years, I have seen Sajid Khan trash movies, actors and directors left, right and centre. He dominated the tele tube with shows for the same purpose. Known for his biting sarcasm and stinging humor (reminiscent of American humor), people from the industry are very weary of this host and dost- Sajid Khan. Don’t know about the host bit, but he was not a good dost to a lot of people. Now, after so many bitter years, he had finally come up with his first solo venture as a feature film director and has given us Heyy Babyy. His sister has fit into the director’s shoes quite snugly. Let us see if Sajid Khan fits the bill and follows suit.
It is pouring in the tinsel city right now. Thunder, lightening and hard rain-these are enough to make anyone want to stay indoors. Would it not be perfect if you could enjoy the same thrill of the rains when curled up comfortably at home? Well, that is so possible, it’s unbelievable! All you have to do is get your favorite munchies while we sit down for a heart o heart chat. And as far as the excitement is concerned, the same thrill that heavy rain gives can be experienced with the wonderful exploits of our very own stars. So get ready to be drenched in a new wave of hot gossip and news!
