It seems quite impossible for this cute attractive gal not to have a boyfriend, but she seems to be quite happy and confident about this fact. Amrita Rao, who went all glam in the recent times denies any rumor that might be encircling her lovelife. She quite stubbornly states that, she is doesn’t believe in having boyfriends for the heck of it. The first guy who will be her first boyfriend will be her husband also. This seems hard to believe but this reinstates her place as Bollywood’s virgin queen. (more…)
Amrita Rao with Pakistan band Jal at Love Sparks event at Enigma on April 9th 2008. The band is among the first of contemporary Pakistani bands that fuse Urdu vocals with modern Pop. Jal’s sound primarily falls in the rock/pop genre. Playing along the lines of Latin-Acoustic Guitars, the main emphasis of their music is on the melodies and the lyrical content. Attempting at keeping their songs melodious and catchy at the same time, the band believes that music is truly the world’s universal language capable of bringing our hearts and souls together. Agreed it is inspired from a Hollywood blockbuster, also agreed that it has nothing to do with jingoistic and even agreed that it is nothing like a typical slapstick movie, but it is the first movie of the year that in spite of being nothing extravagant or thunderous takes your heart away. Those, who have seen ‘A few good Men’, an Oscar nominated movie of the early 1990s, would not only notice the points which makes Shaurya look copied from it, but they would also notice what makes the movie so different from it. Shaurya’s first misconception is that it is nothing about patriotism or fighting wars with neighboring countries or even racism. Samar Khan can never deny the fact that he has been inspired by ‘A Few Good Men’ (I mean literally inspired!), but he somehow hits the nail at the right place. Shaurya is what it means and what it stands for, honor, faith, integrity, justice and righteousness, above all bravery, as the tagline suggests. (more…)

(Photos) 53rd Fair One Filmfare Awards, Bollywood’s most sought-after film awards sponsored by Elder Pharmaceuticals leading brand Fair one Fairness cream was held on Saturday on the 23rd of February at Mumbai’s plush Yashraj Studio. The fun and excitement quotient, of course, remained the same. Anuj Saxena, Director-Marketing Elder Pharma, who is also the brand-ambassador of Fair One Man fairness cream says, “The award ceremony was a rocking affair. It was an evening to remember when the stars shined on earth and the perfomances were excellent”.
I feel Director E Niwas tried to make a mixed curry sort of a thing with this movie. Most of us have seen ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ and have seen quite a number of times to miss the amazing character Anthony Gonsalves, played by Amitabh Bachchan. The similar way, our hero here is rescued from a street and is brought up by a catholic preacher. What I wonder is, its fine if a kid in the late seventies grew up in a church and still go back to business in the slum, however now it is a different world after all. This film has nothing new to boast of, same kind of storyline, mediocre acting and a shabby treatment of the theme. It is too nostalgic to create even a make belief world. (more…)
