After the enjoyable Ghattotkoch, Dashavatar comes as one more animated flick this summer. Finally, Indian filmmakers are ready to experiment with animation and even if these flicks are based on mythology, they are presented in a pleasant and easy-going way, which will please the kids. Explaining how Krishna holds the mountain with a single finger might be difficult but with these animated films with lots of vibrant colors it becomes easy and welcoming as well. (more…)

The question that kept haunting me through out was why would a director with such talent make such a mediocre Masala movie, like ‘Bombay to Bangkok’ with an equally idiotic tagline ‘same same but different’? Everything, from the name to the treatment of the theme to acting, was so very very typical and mediocre. We have been fed on the Bollywood Masala ever since we know. May be Nagesh Kukunoor was just trying the Grandma’s recipe with some Thai ingredients! Ultimately, he could not even create one particular taste and left the audience with burnt tongues and empty stomachs. And what a waste of time and energy! (more…)

Well; it’s time to say ‘Hurry Up!’ because of the news of the release of the much awaited movie Om Shanti Om, which uncurtained last week in the theaters in india and overseas. Following a tough competition, this movie landed in the audience’ hearts very well. I m sure it’s going to stay long compared to the other movies released on the same day. Because of its 2000 screen worlwide, it is exploding its success like the crackers of Diwali going high and high in the air (It is the biggest release of this year in the Bollywood market). Dil Dosti Etc is a romantic movie made under the “Holy Cow” banner. The title of this movie earlier was Love Story. It has skilfully been brought to life on the silver screen by director Manish Tiwari and renowned producer Prakash Jha. Dil Dosti Etc takes you into the lives of the younger, college going generation and is based on the lives of students at the Delhi University , their thoughts and choices in life. It brings to the fore the differences in Indian society by contrasting the lives and ambitions of two young men from different socio-economic backgrounds. (more…)

If this film was not there, I can guarantee that the world would have been a better place and a few people like myself would have been richer by a few hundred rupees. In this day and age, I have no idea as to why directors, if you can actually call them that, are wasting what is assumed to be talent and a lot of producer money in creating utter and complete trash.
