Bappi Lahiri to recreate ‘Bombay se aaya mera dost’ magic

I did ‘Bombai se aaya mera dost’ so many years ago. Then recently, I did ‘Mumbai nagariya’ for Milan Luthria’s ‘Taxi No. 9211′ for Vishal-Shekhar,” Lahiri told IANS.

I’ve just one track while the rest of the score is by Shankar-Ehsaan Loy and Kailash Kher,” he added. While the basic structure of the original song remains unaltered, Lahiri has tampered with the rhythm sections. However, the words ‘Bombay’ has not been changed to a more politically correct Mumbai.

“It’s a song. Where does politics come into it?” asked the composer. Lahiri says the track has turned out far better than it used to be. “I’ve given it a new-age sound. And Akshay performing it will take it to another level,” he added.
